Quick July Catch Up

I'm evidently not a natural social networker, a month has passed since my last blog, in fact the whole of July!   I meant to blog, I even took photographs of new arrivals in preparation, so now they will have to be employed in a quick photo catch up.

Early on in the month a lovely summery collection of driftwood boats from Andrea Brewster

Spot the cheeky ceramic flying fish..
Next from David Worsley, of Saltaire's own Dove Street Pottery, a great collection of his wheel-thrown ceramic tableware.  Thinly thrown with clean lines and elegant forms, glazed in a single glaze of natural colour that has an understated richness and depth. David marries beauty with function to create a pot that is a pleasure to use.

Fiona Clai Brown is an old friend of ArtParade, one of the first artists to show here when we opened eight years ago.   Her relocation from the Island of Anglesey to the mainland, and the closure and rebuilding of her studio, has meant that we haven't seen any new pieces from Fiona for over 2 years.
So I was delighted to receive this super collection of sculptures large and small (and very small)..

Mid July were delighted to receive a visit, and a delivery, from Lesley Clarke.  Lesley now lives overseas but returns a couple of times a year with her husband, also a celebrated glass artist, Norman Stuart Clarke.  While here Lesley and Norman hire glass studios in order to create their beautiful art glass to distribute to their respective galleries.

This year we have the addition of some gorgeous perfume bottles, alongside the "Cornish Sea Vases".  And we are especially pleased to receive some "Wilde Green" vases, made especially for us, being so far from the sea Lesley first made this green variation for us some years ago.
Well that's just part 1 of the catch up, in part 2  Hester Cox prints, McNeill Glass and Rowena Park jewellery.
